TOMORROW is the 2015 Weymouth Carnival.

Thanks to Mary Harding of Wyke Regis, Weymouth, we've got some postcards to enjoy of carnivals of old.

We're going back a fair few years to 1935 for the carnival when the Whitehead Torpedo float was one of the main attractions.

This torpedo featured in that year's carnival and even boasted two sailors.

The float had a union flag and proudly declares the torpedo is 'an all British product'.

There is a small group of boys milling around in front of the float obviously admiring it, apart from one cheeky youngster who is looking into the camera.

It even looks as though a couple of children have hopped onboard the float!

The photo was obviously taken in Weymouth, but here at Looking Back we are unsure of the location of the float.

Does anyone know?

The second postcard is of the torpedo's 'afterbody'.

The third image moves forward a few years and is of Weymouth Carnival in 1961 or 1962.

Anyone would think this bevy of beauties had just jetted in from Hawaii, but in fact it is the Admiralty Underwater Weapons Establishment float.

Does anyone recognise themselves from this photo or know of anyone in it?
