THANKS to Peter Fry for popping in with a copy of his own book!
Author Peter realised that his self-penned Dorset - 100 Not Out was a useful reference point for the retrospective articles we've had on the history of Weymouth College, courtesy of Terry Gale.
Peter drew our attention to the part of the book where he mentions that Dorset County Cricket Club struggled to find a permanent home and played at Weymouth College, Sherborne School or Blandford.
He brought in this postcard which shows cricket being played at the ground in the 1890s.
In the spring of 1899 it was reported that the club' s executive committee had found a very desirable site on the South Court Estate at Dorchester.
