THANKS to Looking Back reader Sally McMahon who got in touch after visiting the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival.
We recently delved into the fascinating life of Tolpuddle resident Cissie Puckett after featuring this photo of a face a photographer had lost the name for.
Sally wished to point out that Cissie's mother-in-law Jane Puckett, nee Hammett, was not a direct descendant of George Hammett, but her father was William Hammett, who was a half-cousin to James Hammett, the Tolpuddle Martyr himself.
Sally's connection to the Tolpuddle Hammetts is through the line of a first cousin to James Hammett the Tolpuddle Martyr.
She said: "We had a lovely day at the festival in Tolpuddle where I met up with many other Tolpuddle Hammett relatives - some of whom are related to all six of the martyrs as their lineage is from a sister of James Hammett who married into the Loveless family, and also were joined by some direct descendants of James Hammett."
