ON this day in 1999 Prince Edward married Sophie Rhys-Jones at St. George's Chapel, Windsor - a venue familiar to Royal watchers after the wedding last month of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Following the wedding they took the titles of His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex and Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex.

With the couple celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary today, here's a look back at when they visited Weymouth Fire Station in 2014.

We've got another memory of the Earl of Wessex in the area from May 2007 when he opened the Dorset County Hospital Cardiac Centre.

The Dorset County Cardiac Centre started taking patients in October 2004 following the building of a £2 million cardiac catheter suite. The high-tech facility has enabled staff to provide cardiac angiography and pacemaker implantation for the patients of west Dorset.

Just last week Prince Edward was back in Dorset when he stopped at Canford School for a few games of 'real tennis' as part of a fundraising tour.

He played against pupils as part of his tour of every court in the world to support the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Prince Edward is eighth in the line of succession to the throne.
