Thanks for all your feedback following our series of articles on the Royal Jubilee Hall and Gaumont Cinema in Weymouth.

We appreciate Mary Elliott getting in touch to point out that Brian Elliott was manager of the Odeon cinema, not the Gaumont, as stated in the photo caption.

Another Looking Back reader wondered if Genesis played a gig at Weymouth Grammar School in 1971.

Thanks to Robbie Howes of Weymouth who got in touch because he attended the gig.

He said: "Genesis did a tour of schools and they came to the grammar school, which is now Budmouth, on Valentine's Day 1971.

"I went to the gig when I was 20, I'm not sure if there was a support act on before Genesis. They were an established act then so I'm not sure why they were doing concerts at schools."

Online commenter ‘weymouth wizard’ recalled: “I think they had booked Status Quo for the Christmas Dance but for some reason they cancelled and we ended up with Genesis.”

‘Weymouth wizard’ remembers the line-up as Tony Banks on keyboards, Phil Collins on percussion, Peter Gabriel on vocals, Steve Hackett on lead guitar and Mike Rutherford on bass guitar.

‘Drasher’ commented: “I remember it. Long haired pop singers who made a load of noise but the pupils had a good time and nobody imagined they would go on to be such a huge success.”
