Thanks to Looking Back reader John Scamell for this wonderful old photo, taken from a 19th century postcard, of Weymouth Beach.
As you can see, beach-goers are well attired and the golden sands of Weymouth are obviously a major draw with a large number of people gathered on the beach and quite a few people paddling in the sea.
The familiar outline of Weymouth's Georgian seafront looks as stunning as ever.
