RECENTLY we asked Looking Back readers to help supply an Australian woman with some information on her father's final resting place.

Dr Maria Cornwell of Parramata, Sydney is visiting Weymouth in July and wants to find the final resting place of her father Ronald Russell.

All Dr Cornwell knew was that he was working as a caretaker at a caravan site near to Weymouth.

Thanks to Nicky Fisher who got in touch.

She wrote: "I believe that the Ronald Russell referred to in the article might be the gardener/chauffeur of the late Hilda Fisher who owned the caravan site at Ringstead. "Hilda is a distant relative of my father's and Ron, who changed his name to Fisher-Russell at her request, was a beneficiary of her will in the mid 1970s and inherited a number of properties at Ringstead including the caravan site, which he later sold to my father.

"He did work as the warden of the site for many years but in the latter years of my great aunt's life he also became her chauffeur and lived in the Flat at The Creek House, Ringstead.

"He moved from Ringstead to Weymouth in the late 1970s and early 1980s."

Nicky said that although she does not know the resting place of Ron or his wife Kit, she believes there are others at Ringstead who would be able to provide this information.

So the search goes on. If you can help, give us a call.
