THERE'S a chance to see Elvis Presley making his acting debut in Dorchester next week.

A celebration of The King is being held at Age UK Dorchester.

Following the success of an Elvis Day event to celebrate Elvis Presley's 80th birthday last year, the star will be making a welcome return to the charity’s Evergreen Cinema on Wednesday January 13 with a screening of his first movie - Love Me Tender.

Featuring the haunting title song, Elvis makes a creditable acting debut in this dramatic 1956 film set in the dying hours of the American Civil War.

The event promises is will be a rare treat for all Elvis fans and an afternoon not to be missed.

The cinema lights will dim at 1.45pm with tea and biscuits served during the showing for £1.50. Ice creams will also be available.

Everyone is welcome to come along to Age UK Dorchester’s centre in Prince of Wales Road to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and good company.
