THESE old photos of the car park at Thorncombe Woods were discovered by staff at Hardy's Birthplace at Upper Bockhampton near Dorchester.
They want to know if anyone recognises themselves in the pictures and can recall what looks like a school trip to Thomas Hardy's cottage!
Judging from the cars, they estimate that these photos were taken in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Dorset County Council acquired Thorncombe Woods in 1968 so the staff members were wondering if the pictures were taken at a grand opening of the woods.
