Working hard to reduce waste

| MAJOR CHANGE: Nicky Jenkins |
JUST
HOW GREEN HAVE YOU BEEN
By NICKY JENKINS, Weymouth Pavilion
promotions manager.
AT HOME we are fairly good about recycling.
When we started to do it properly we were quite shocked to see just how little rubbish was produced when the rest could be sent off to recycling. The major change is the amount of paper we now put out.
We also get our fruit and veg through an organic delivery box which means the packaging involved is hugely reduced and I work hard not to use carrier bags.
We are involved with Weymouth East Scouts - and the boys bring all their family newspapers to the hall where we meet for recycling.
On camp we recycle all tins and glass.
Last weekend the Scouts took part in the Great Dorset Beach Clean so they are aware of the importance of keeping the community clean.
