Submit a letter
Letters are welcome on any topic, but preference will always be given to
subjects of local interest. Please keep letters as concise as possible -
this will make them more likely to be published.
The editor reserves the right to edit or condense contributions.
Please include your full name and postal address, even if you are asking us
not to print the full address. Please also include phone number (for our
reference, not for publication).
Anonymous letters will not even be considered. Writers who have concerns
about revealing their identity are free to ask us not to publish it, but
please remember that unless there seems to be a logical reason (genuine
fears for personal safety, for instance) the letter is less likely to be
used.
In e-mails, please observe the same rules of punctuation, grammar, spelling,
etc, as you would when writing in more traditional fashion. Submissions
which present too much of a problem in editing will not be considered.
We only take your details so we can verify or clarify letters. We also use writers' names and partial addresses on letters we print or publish online. Your details will not be kept on our files after publication and we won't pass them on to anyone else.
If you don't want your name or address published with your letter, please say so - this is at the editor's discretion. We still need your details for verification or clarification purposes.
