At least Cameron is not ducking the issue

It might seem odd, but I think David Cameron's pledge to get rid of the Hunting Act is very much in keeping with his modernising agenda.

After all, we all knew that the act was not about foxes, but about settling old political scores between the main parties.

Furthermore, by all accounts the Act is a complete muddle with no one really knowing what is happening and an already overstretched police force caught in the middle.

Some people criticise Cameron for ducking issues, but tackling something this controversial head on, and recognising that the Hunting Act is a failure, is to his credit, irrespective of whether one agrees or disagrees with hunting or lives in an urban or rural community.
