We on Broadwey are suffering for the relief road

THE relief road may well be finished early, but we on the Broadwey estates are suffering for it.

There is early morning noise, late finishing, dust, dirt and total inconvenience to our summer.

I went to the exhibition, which was packed, mainly by people from Preston and Dorchester Road, who are not affected by the disruption and of course would make positive comments.

I met an awful lot of people from the estates who were not happy. Our access to both sides of Littlemoor Road has effectively been cut to one small road to serve over a hundred houses.

All it needs is one vehicle to break down or an accident on those junctions to close off the whole relevant estate on either side of the road.

They have put yellow lines on The Finches and Nightingale Drive, which have not signposts to give them legal authority. Even if they were, no one ever polices them.

Why do heavy plant vehicles have loud, intrusive reversing bleepers, which, when on a bulldozer, go off 50 per cent of the time when all the workers on site wear ear defenders and hard hats.

If you can't see a large digger and hear it, should you really be working on a site.

K BOUSFIELD, Sanderling Close, Broadwey.
