I occasionally have the misfortune of driving from Weymouth to Dorchester over the Ridgeway.
I say misfortune because the amount of plastic bottles and rubbish on the side of the road is disgusting.
It is particularly bad from Bincombe Corner to the top of the Ridgeway.
With Easter and the summer approaching, I think it would be a good idea if whoever is in charge of maintaining the roadsides to do a rubbish pick.
Perhaps a team from Skanska could assist? If I was a holidaymaker in Weymouth or Portland who was faced with a rubbish-strewn roadside when I left, I might think twice before returning.
I realise that it is almost impossible for the roadsides to be pristine all of the time, but if motorists see clean verges they are much less likely to throw rubbish out of their cars.
