My tribute to tragic Glyn

THIS is my tribute to Glyn Watkins, the actor and rugby player so tragically found dead in the harbour.

My first meeting with Glyn was when he walked in on his own and I was auditioning for Fifteen Streets.

It was my lucky day as I’m known as being a bit of a fanatic where drama is concerned.

He was young, good looking and naturally talented and perfect for the leading role.

He fulfilled all my expectations as he was a perfectionist.

When I decided to retire from directing plays, I chose Les Miserables as my swan song, with no regrets as Glyn was there in the lead role of Jean Valjean and a strong team around him – thank you, Glyn.

My thoughts today are with his mother and family at this sudden loss.

My only consolation is she was lucky in having such a well thought of son as Glyn for those few short years.

God Bless.
