Would Weymouth people rather be in Bridport?

Well, there you go good people of Weymouth – 2012 and all that.

Roads closed, town centre gridlocked, park and ride extortionate, place jammed with people who will never return, regular grockles staying away, buses on strike, and you have to pay a fortune to use an area given to people as a free amenity.

The good news is that you can get to see (with binoculars) a lot of little boats bobbing about, which is usual for Weymouth.

Don’t you just wish you lived in Bridport?

C Johns, Alexandra Court, Bridport

Its not the olympics, local council, traffic management schemes or indeed anything else damaging my lovely home town.
A ginormous chunk of the blame lies at the feet of the nasty nimby xenphobes who constantly whinge and complain about everything.

Bridport.........whe
re they still point at aeroplanes?

Seriously though, although there are a small number of backward thinking nimby's that are objecting about the disruption, the vast majority of people of Weymouth welcome the modernisation of our town.

The regular moaners in this paper, have been complaining ever since the railways arrived, bringing with them noisy town folk from that there London place.

Every town has them, and by and large they are harmless.

Even the "Keep Weymouth in the dark ages" group have failed in most of their objections to progress in this town, & long may that situation continue.

Unfortunately for Bridport, nobody yet has considered it worthwhile dragging into the 20th, let alone the 21st Century :-)

Why live in Bridport? Bridport is not lucky enough to have the worlds greatest, biggest and richest sporting occasion on its doorstep.

We rae very lucky indeed and can't wait for the party to begin

I would only want to live in Bridport if I could have a stall somewhere within your 'I saw you coming' - no, sorry 'Vintage' market so I could sell old tat to people with too much money.

This week there has been a lot in the news about the degrading of vocational qualifications equivalent to GCSE's. As someone who has just moved to Gillingham from another part of the country I would like to know how many GCSE's understanding North Dorset's refuse and recycling system is equivalent to?
