Using weedkiller in public is lethal

I am concerned that a member of the public is spraying weedkiller on to the grass verges alongside Glennie Way, Chickerell.

My dog regularly eats grass while out on walks and so when I noticed the ugly wide strip of dead grass I phoned Dorset County Council to complain.

Their representative has contacted me to assure me that none of the local authorities have carried out any spraying.

Therefore I have to conclude that a very misguided and thoughtless member of our community is spraying potentially lethal chemicals in a public place.

There are very tight regulations on the use of herbicide and pesticides.

The regulations are there for a reason, namely that the the chemicals are poison!

I hope the authorities make every effort to track down and bring action against the culprit soon.

Let us hope that this individual hasn’t sprayed poison onto the children’s play areas of our community!
