I read with interest the article regarding the building of 27 flats on the site of the old garage at Fiveways, Weymouth. I hope someone has told the developer before they decide where to put the entrance to the car parking facilities, that the traffic is going to re-routed, according to our local councillor, to come up Benville Road and go down Lynch Road.

If ever there is a waste of council's money, then surely this is - for what reason it is being re-routed - who knows!

Looking at a map, this suggestion doesn't seem logical. I wonder which way traffic wanting to go to the town centre coming out of Lynch Lane would be routed. Is this wishful thinking by the local councillor or does he know something that us plebes are not allowed to know. would the guilty party stand up and let us know the facts?

After reading the comment about re-routing traffic down lynch road and up benville road. i would like to know what idiot came up with that idea. I bet they don't live in the area. Why can't these do gooders leave well alone. look at the cost alone in re doing the road signs etc.For goodness sake, we are for ever getting people going up and down the wrong way on both roads now let alone if you move it. we who live in those roads should be consulted. It is going to be bad enough with all the extra problems 17 flats are going to cause on such a small area as it is, with sewerage and water, also gas and electric companies digging up the roads and payments for the extra load the flats will need. VOTE NOW EVERYONE. LEAVE OUR ROADS ALONE. lynda goodwin lynch road.

For what, exactly? Quit the histrionics! Do you actually know what (if anything) the highways department want to do here? I think we should be told!!1!
