Why dig up the road in holiday season?
So, the authorities decide that a good time to dig up one of the three main roads into Weymouth is during the busy holiday season.
Are they using the ensuing frustration and traffic chaos as a cynical ploy to bring waverers over to the idea that a new relief road is the only alternative?
Or, looking ahead, is this the level of incompetent traffic management that we can expect during the Olympic Games?
If so, then God help us!
Paul Pearson,
Louviers Road,
Weymouth.

There are no major roadworks here, the WPBC website at http://www.weymouth.
gov.uk/transport/hig
hways/events.asp?svi
d=852 says so.
Our highways and traffic notice board is updated regularly by the highways department. It shows all major road works in the Borough and reports them here as and when they occur. If you are planning a journey into or out of Weymouth and Portland or you commute to work to or from the town then add this page to your favourites and check back before you make your journey!
