Roadworks made me miss my daughter's leaving assembly

What councillors can and cannot do over Pavilion issue

I REFER to the letter entitled Can councillors have Pavilion vote?' from Gareth Duncan (Echo, July 15), A councillor who has an interest in any business which is being considered by the council, including a planning application for the pavilion site, must declare that interest.

We must fight to retain this excellent facility

Why dig up the road in holiday season?

So, the authorities decide that a good time to dig up one of the three main roads into Weymouth is during the busy holiday season.

The villagers of Crossways have been forced to have an election to fill the post left by Mr Geoffrey Northcote, who was never elected, but returned unopposed.

I REFER to the article Go to the back of the queue' (Echo, June 25) about patients who miss hospital appointments facing a trip back to their GP and an 18-week wait/ delay in getting treatment.

Why we're we not told of this road closure until it was too late?

Driving from Preston to Buxton Road via the harbourside took over an hour today (Saturday). Why? Because noone appears to have thought through what happens when you invite people to the town (for the Spirit of the Sea Festival) and close one of the town's main arteries.
