WEST Dorset District Council has
re-elected the same chairman, vice-chairman and leader for the next year.
The three figures were proposed and seconded without any competition at the full council
meeting in the West Dorset District Council office. Councillor Ron Coatsworth, of the Bradpole ward, was elected as chairman and said that it was 'a privilege and honour which he greatly values'. Coun Gillian Summers, of the Chideock and Symondsbury Ward, was re-elected for the position of vice-chairman.
The position of leader of the council went to Coun Robert Gould, who is the councillor for Queen Thorne ward. Coun Gould said the two issues at the top of his agenda were maximising housing in the West Dorset area and working with neighbouring districts.
