A MAJOR landslip has blocked the access road to Monmouth Beach in Lyme Regis and police are warning people not to cross their barricade as they fear there could be another one.

They are also warning of a risk to the beach chalets and are urging owners not to try and get to them.

A spokesman said: "As a result of the landslip the road has been closed indefinitely.

"No one has been injured in this incident but Dorset Police advise that there is a risk to the beach chalets and urge owners not to try and access their properties under any circumstances.

"Members of the public must not cross police tape that is closing the road as there is a considerable risk of a further landslip."
