Tiger Woods and Colin Montgomery equivalents of the miniature golf circuit are descending on Weymouth.
They will be teeing off at the second annual Open Golf championship at the resort’s Pirate Adventure Golf course.
The championship, which is endorsed by the British Miniature Golf Association, is this Sunday.
Some of the country’s top mini-golfers will compete over two rounds, including the reigning champion Richard Gottfried.
Golf manager who Clayton said: “We’re hoping all those that competed last year will return, especially those who need to defend their title.
“But fresh blood is welcome, the more competition the better.”
Scores will be collated after each round and the player order adjusted so that leaders go last – just like a professional golf tournament.
There are trophies, medals and an £85 prize up for grabs, plus a year’s free annual pass to the golf course.
The entry fee is £5. Anyone wanting to compete needs to send a cheque or postal order to Ian at Pirate Adventure Golf, Lodmoor Country Park, Weymouth, DT4 7SX. The deadline is October 9.
