TWO heroin dealers arrested following a major police blitz on the Weymouth drug trade have been jailed.
Eve Laura Michelle Shury, 32, and Carolann Robinson, 34, both supplied the class A drug to an undercover police officer in Weymouth town centre.
Shury, described as operating ‘above the level of street supply’, was jailed for 40 months, and Robinson received a 30-month prison sentence.
A total of five people have now been sent to prison following Dorset Police’s Operation Dismantle, which saw 38 people arrested in a series of raids across the Weymouth area.
Shury appeared at Dorchester Crown Court after admitting seven charges of supplying heroin and one of being concerned in the supply of heroin.
Simon Jones, prosecuting, said the undercover officer was given Shury’s phone number on August 7 last year after having a conversation with a man in Weymouth town centre about where he could buy drugs.
Mr Jones said: “He phoned the defendant and they arranged to meet at the Swan pub. It was there that the exchange took place.”
He said the police operative handed over £10 for a wrap that, when analysed, was found to contain 0.091grams of heroin of 47 per cent purity.
Mr Jones said the officer contacted Shury on seven further occasions between that day and December 16, arranging deals worth between £10 and £40.
On one occasion he met Shury but a man with her actually handed over the drugs.
Mr Jones said Shury was arrested on February 9 and found to have £385 on her.
He said: “The Crown’s case is that she had three or four runners working for her.
“She was involved in the supply of class A drugs, not just to test purchase operatives, but also to others.”
Tim Shorter, mitigating, said Shury, of Commercial Road, Weymouth, was a ‘long-term addict’ who supplied drugs to other users and small scale distributors purely to fund her own habit. Robinson, of Canterbury Close, Weymouth, admitted two charges of supplying heroin and one of possessing the drug.
Simon Jones said police attended her address on July 14 last year to evict another resident and Robinson was found to have three wraps of heroin in her mouth. While on police bail for that offence she twice supplied heroin to the undercover officer in Weymouth town centre, on October 28 and November 11 last year.
