A BAND from Weymouth is hitting all the right notes after impressing judges in two national competitions to recognise unsigned artists.
Bebe and Paolo have been invited to play at the opening night of a major talent festival which offers the winner the chance to play the main stage at Glastonbury Festival in June.
They are also waiting to hear if they have been successful in an another talent competition where the winning band gets a slot at the two-day Camden Crawl indie music festival in London.
The duo – singer Naomi Beauvoir Black and guitarist Paul Sharod – are hopeful but acknowledge they are up against tough competition.
But they are delighted with the exposure and the opportunity to peddle their unique sound in front of big players from the music industry.
Naomi, 21, said: “Glastonbury Emerging Talent is run by Q music magazine and awards the top unsigned band a slot on the Pyramid Stage.
“We’re not one of the 12 finalists but we’ve been invited to play a set at the finals at the Pilton Working Men’s Club next Friday in front of a panel of judges.
“We’ve been told we could be in with a chance of playing at the festival but there are no guarantees.”
She added: “We also sent our songs off to the Emerging Talent Awards and have been told we’ve been nominated as best live act and best new band.
“The voting for the competition is now finished and we understand the winners will be announced next month.”
