LEISURE centre worker Anne-Marie Kirby said she was ‘feeling quite good’ after completing the 26-mile run in four hours 53 minutes and 13 seconds.

Anne-Marie was running with friends Alice Green and Andrew Roper, who work with her at the leisure centre of Weymouth’s Hotel Rembrandt.

Between them, the trio raised £4,500 for the Spinal Injuries Association.

Anne-Marie said: “The crowds were awesome and really helped keep our spirits up.

“I felt like I knew everyone as I was running around.

“We had a bit of rain part the way through the journey, which was absolutely ideal.

“We also kept dowsing ourselves in cold showers like car washes the whole way round, which also helps a lot.

“I had a knee injury before I started but it didn’t bother me too much on the way round luckily.”

After crossing the finish line, Anne-Marie said she planned on recuperating with a ‘nice dinner and a good long sleep’.
