PUPILS at St Osmund's Middle School in Dorchester spent a record-breaking day breaking some records of their own.
In the unseasonably high temperatures, the youngsters held their annual Challenge 26, taking part in numerous sponsored challenges to raise money for the Key to the Future charity, which supports education in Sudan.
The charity was set up by the Dorchester couple Claire and Richard Budd and has helped build the Grace Secondary School. Activities included goal scoring, dancing, cycling laps of the school grounds, creating artwork on the school playing field and climbing.
The children also came together to form the school’s logo for an aerial photograph, which was assisted by Dorset Fire and Rescue Service.
Headteacher Ron Jenkinson said: “We had a fantastic day. The pupils really threw themselves into all the activities and had great fun.
“It’s important for us to take time to think of the challenges faced by other young people around the world.”
The school was hoping to raise around £2,000 through the event and have previously raised more than £11,000 for the charity.
Mrs Budd said: “We are really grateful for their continued support and it was good to go along and see the children getting stuck in to all the activities.
“We are always pleased to be involved with St Osmund’s and the kids are always enthusiastic.”
