AN INJURED surfer was airlifted to hospital.
Coastguards were told the casualty had suffered a leg injury on the beach between Osmington and Ringstead in Weymouth Bay.
A coastguard team from Weymouth went to the scene to help but because of the difficulties in getting an ambulance to the scene on Saturday it was decided to call in the helicopter from Portland to take the injured man to Dorset County Hospital.
