A COLLECTION has been set up to help the family of three-year-old Max Price, right, who is facing complications after his recent kidney transplant.

The Weymouth youngster had to have his new kidney, which was transplanted only a few weeks ago, removed after complications following the operation.

He is now expected to be transferred from the clinic in London to hospital in Southampton before coming home.

It has been a traumatic time for his parents Michelle and Shaun Price who will have to ensure Max gets the care he needs once he is back at home.

The Dorset Echo is appealing for people to support the family by dropping cash donations into the Echo offices at the Granby Industrial Estate in Weymouth or Antelope Walk in Dorchester.

Brave Max has been suffering from chronic renal failure for most of his young life and the family thought their prayers had been answered when he was called up to the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London a fortnight ago with news that a donor organ had been secured.

Initially Max’s progress impressed medical staff at the hospital but the last week has seen a series of complications and signs that his body was rejecting the new kidney.

Mum Michelle thanked everyone who has supported Max and the family over the last few weeks.
