Dorset cheesemaker's Valentine's Day aphrodisiac

A WEST Dorset company has launched an aphrodisiac cheese for St Valentine’s Day.

‘Swoon’ is the latest cheese to come from West Dorset cheesemakers, Ford Farm.

The new cheese combines a Wensleydale with ingredients which have been recognised for many centuries for their natural aphrodisiac qualities - figs and honey.

Ford Farm, well known for their innovative approach to cheese making have blended this latest variety to inject some passion and excitement into a time of year that is traditionally a quiet one for cheese sales.

Ford Farm MD, Mike Pullin, said: “Everyone has maxed out on cheese at Christmas and tends to abstain in these early months. “We’re testing the market this year with ‘Swoon’ to see whether it proves to be a viable alternative to chocolate for Valentine’s Day.”

It is available from The Fridge in Dorchester and the Town Mill Cheesemonger in Lyme Regis.
