OFF-DUTY paramedics and members of Portland St John Ambulance will be showing their rapid response skills while tossing pancakes at the Dorset Echo Pancake Day Races next week.
They will race on Tuesday at 10.30am on the rectory lawn at All Saints Church in Easton.
The fun-filled event has been held there for approximately 20 years, with the Echo supplying the prizes.
As usual, there will be races for pre-school and primary schoolchildren, men and women, all encouraged by the cheers of the spectators who come along year after year.
Competitors are advised to call 01305 822811 by 9.15am to find out if the event is going ahead if the weather looks uncertain.
Hot drinks will be available in the church where prize-giving will also take place when all the runners have whisked along the course.
