Summer events from Lulworth Rangers
2:00pm Wednesday 20th June 2012 in Local News
DORSET residents are being invited to explore a new perspective of a rural beauty spot with a programme of funded events this summer.
Lulworth Rangers have organised more than 30 events, some completely free, to encourage people to look at the Jurassic Coast from different angles as part of the 2012 Earth Festival.
Maddy Phaff, head of the Lulworth Rangers, said: “Lots of people visit the Jurassic Coast but very few are geologists.
“The Earth Festival allowed us to think creatively about how to celebrate our coast in entertaining and enlightening ways.”
Free events are funded by Lulworth Estate and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Half-day stone carving workshops will take place on August 16 and 17, from 10.30am to 1.30pm and 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
There will also be a photography workshop held by Ben Osborne, a BBC natural history photographer, who worked on programme Planet Earth.
The workshop will take place on August 11, from 9.30am to 5pm at the heritage centre.
