A DORSET housing group celebrated its 25th anniversary.

More than 80 guests came from different groups including authorities, partnership organisations and funders, to celebrate Magna Housing Group’s anniversary with an evening reception recently.

A number of present and former board members and involved tenants also attended and had a chance to look at the displays which showed the history of Magna over the last 25 years.

Graham Colls, group chief executive of Magna Housing Group, said: “We’ve come a long way since the inaugural meeting in June 1989 of the steering committee of West Dorset Housing Association, which then went on to become Magna in 1995. I thank everyone who has been involved in making Magna the successful community-based organisation it is today.”

The mayor of Dorchester, Peter Mann, said: “It has played a very important part in many communities in Dorset. I particularly thank the volunteer board members and involved tenants. I am pleased to see how they listen to residents and act on what they say.”
