WE'RE set for another good weekend of weather so get yourself out of the house and make the most of it.

How about fundraising by the beach, jazz by the sea or folk music in an evocative old building?

*Be dazzled by some bright colours at fundraising event for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust tomorrow (18).

Starting from the Lodmoor Country Park in Weymouth at 11am, cheer on runners who will be completing a 4km walk, run, skip or dance to raise cash for a good cause.

The only snag is, they'll be having paint chucked at their white T-shirts as they make their way around the course, resulting in some interesting works of art at the finish line!

*If you find yourself in Lyme Regis, enjoy the sound of smoky jazz.

Maggie Reeday and Philip Clouts will be performing at the Marine Theatre on Sunday.

Maggie is one of the country’s finest vocalists. She has appeared on ITV’s ‘New Faces’ on numerous occasions, toured USA army bases in Germany and sung for the BBC Radio Orchestra. Doors open at 7pm.

*Take a bow wow after a walkie in Weymouth tomorrow.

A 7k charity dog walk along Weymouth promenade will raise money for the Dogs Trust. It will start opposite the Alexandra Gardens at 10am and go up to the Oasis Cafe and back. It costs £5 to take part and entrants will receive a certificate and doggy goodie bag at the end.

*All aboard for the Swanage Railway's Steam Gala from today to Sunday.

The gala will see history being made with the first ever visit to Swanage of a 'Schools' class main line express steam locomotive.

Locomotives also operating during the Gala include M7 Class 30053 and U Class 31806.

See swanagerailway.co.uk for more information.

*Artist Marilyn Allis will be exhibiting her artwork from 11am to 5pm, today and tomorrow, at The Studio, Unit 2a, Lower Courtyard, Rogershill Farm, Briantspuddle.

People are invited to come and enjoy a free glass of bubbly to celebrate the opening.

There will be lots of original artwork for sale.

*Scottish folk singer Ewan McLennan is performing at the Justice Cafe, Shire Hall, Dorchester, tomorrow night from 7.30pm. Ewan is a troubadour, balladeer and storyteller cut in the old style.

His gig will be followed by a Q&A session on the theme ‘Can Songs Change the World?’
