THE Dorset Cottage Garden Society is hosting a special afternoon with the popular TV gardener Christine Walkden at the Brownsword Hall in Poundbury this Sunday.
People are invited for a cup of tea and a cake with Walkden, who will reflect in her well-known light-hearted style on the 'Life and Times of a Gardener’.
The One Show regular has always been a keen horticulturist and worked at two experimental horticultural stations before being employed in the technical departments of horticultural companies.
After working as a lecturer, she decided to go freelance and has presented numerous gardening programmes for television and is the author of several books.
Her daytime series ‘Glorious Gardens From Above’ won a Royal Television Society Award.
Doors will open at 2pm for a 2.30pm start. Tickets are strictly limited and cost £10 for guests and £5 members of the Dorset Cottage Garden society.
