*BREWERY Square in Dorchester is officially kicking off Christmas this weekend.

Skating in the Square is returning for another year and the square will also see the return of the Anonymous Travelling Market for another year from 5pm, along with live music and a Christmas lights illumination from 5.30pm.

*GET into the festive spirit at Athelhampton House and Gardens near Dorchester this weekend.

The house is hosting the Dorset Food and Drink Christmas Fair tomorrow from10am to 4pm.

This is a unique opportunity to sample the wide selection of delicious produce the county has to offer. Entry is £2.50 per person.

*YULETIDE begins in Lyme Regis tomorrow.

Follow the trail of delightful painted Christmas Windows around town and pick up clues from each window for the chance to win a prize.

Santa will be in his grotto at the Royal Lion Hotel from 1pm and the traditional Christmas Lanterns workshop will take place in the Baptist Church from 3pm, with the lanterns leading a parade through town that will conclude with the ceremonial switching on of the Christmas lights at 5.30pm.

*FRANK and Belle's Vintage Christmas Market is being held at the Old Town Hall in Weymouth.

It will be held tomorrow from 10am to 4pm and there will be a very special appearance from Disney Frozen's Anna & Elsa! Entry is 50p and children go free.

*A TRADITIONAL Dorset Christmas Fayre will be held at The Old Brewery Hall in Ansty tomorrow from 12pm to 3pm.

There will be an interesting selection of stalls including handmade cakes, jams, local crafts, jewellery, wreaths and decorations and toys.

The fayre is in aid of St Andrew's Church at Melcombe Bingham.

*CORFE Castle School is hosting its Christmas Craft Fair today in this picturesque Purbeck village.

There will be plenty for children to enjoy; a visit to Father Christmas in his magical Grotto, donkey rides in the playground and lots of fun craft activities and games to take part in. It takes place from 3pm to 6pm.

*ENJOY Open Studios at St Michael's Trading Estate in Bridport.

Studio in the Attic along with Becca's Larder, Squirrell Bindery and Press and Fiona Neylan Millinery are opening their studios today and tomorrow from 10am to 4pm.

*A WINFRITH Christmas Craft Fair takes place at Winfrith Newburgh Village Hall tomorrow and Sunday.

On sale are clothes, toys, decorations, things for the house and some lovely stocking fillers.

Tomorrow between 5pm and 8pm you can enjoy some mulled wine and mince pies and on Sunday you can enjoy soup, tea and cakes.

*ROCK around the Christmas tree with a Rock and Roll Christmas Party at the Electric Palace in Bridport tomorrow.

Earl Jackson and Stompin’ Dave Allen, two of the UK's top blues and roots artists, will be performing from 8pm.

Dorset's Stompin' Dave is known for his madcap hillbilly dancing and award winning banjo picking.

*CATCH the soaring sounds of The Ridgeway Performers as they sing West Gallery Carols tomorrow at St James Church in Kingston at 4pm.
