ENCHANTING Joglaresa will be performing a festive concert at Holy Trinity Church, Dorchester, on Friday December 16

This female vocal group will be performing nowells, wassails and Christmas lullabies, accompanying themselves on fidel, harp, bells, bagpipes and percussion.

The ensemble have been playing together since 1992, now well-established, they are known for their imaginative interpretation of early music.

The combination of their differing upbringings in traditional Irish, English, Maghrebi, Balkan and Middle Eastern music has influenced their work which focuses on connecting ancient and traditional music to create a 'fusion' of these styles to create a homogenous sound.

Several members of the group have spent years in North Africa and the Middle East absorbing the best traditional tunes, learning the local languages (Arabic and Hebrew).

Joglaresa have performed at many prestigious venues and festivals, including the Aldeburgh Festival, York Early Music Festiva, the Queen Elizabeth Hall (London) and numerous radio broadcasts - the world over...?This Christmas performance promises to be a truly memorable and festive occasion not to be missed.
