SOUL blues vocalist Jo Harman is to perform in Dorchester as part of her album launch.

She and her band will be supported by Elles Bailey at the gig on Saturday, February 11

Jo's much anticipated album is called People We Become.

It was recorded in Nashville by noted producer Fred Mollin (Carol King, Carly Simon, Joe Cocker etc.) and features a cameo by Michael McDonald.

Jo is an award-winning vocalist, songwriter and bandleader who has performed at some of Europe's most prestigious venues.

She won Female Vocalist of the Year and was runner up for Songwriter of the Year’at the 2014 British Blues awards and has performed for and with the likes of Joan Baez and Patti Smith.

Since her DIY debut album was released in 2013, Jo has been particularly successful in the Low Countries and has played around 100 festivals as well as mainstream TV and Radio appearances. Her success culminated in the 2015 live album 'Jo Harman Live at The Royal Albert Hall recorded by the BBC'. Jo has also been asked to perform at a number of high profile events for Amnesty International and, in particular, was one of a handful of artists asked to appear at Amnesty's 'Ambassador of Conscience' Awards in Berlin.

In her live show, Jo's soul fuelled material covers hard rock to heart melting ballads, all performed with utter conviction alongside her first rate band. Apart from her own emotive covers, Jo also performs songs by other artists that mean something to her. Not to be missed.

Special guest Elles Bailey will support Jo on this tour. Fresh from recording her debut album in Nashville, this captivating, hard-working songstress blends Blues, Country, Soul, and Rock with a contemporary edge. She features meaningful, personal lyrics and big anthemic choruses.
