A MAGICAL piece of brand new theatre is heading to Dorset.

It's on tour to rural Dorset, including Buckland Newton on Sunday March 26, courtesy of Artsreach, the county's arts charity.

From the creator of Great Expectations and Dracula comes a tale more exciting than excitement itself: The Odyssey.

The journey of all journeys. To Hell. And back again. Gods, Monsters, Sirens, Derring-Dos and Derring-Donts! A love story that lasts decades. It’s Greek stuff... with all the boring bits removed!

After two hugely popular tours with his take on Dickens’ Great Expectations and Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Cornish actor and co-founder of Kneehigh Theatre, Dave Mynne returned to Dorset in February to perform his new show through Artsreach.

The Odyssey is supported by local solicitors Blanchards Bailey.

With several sell-out appearances and great demand for me, the immensely talented and versatile performer is back again this month and tackling one of the epic poems by Greek author Homer’s, in an outstanding one-man performance titled The Odyssey: Greek Stuff!

Kerry Bartlett, Artsreach co-director said “Dave Mynne is quite simply an outstanding performer; his skill with just a few simple props, a rubber face and clear and concise storytelling never fails to entertain.”

With a ‘cast of thousands’ and may be a bit of water, there will certainly be a laugh or two! Early booking is highly advised. It is suitable for adults and older children (12+)

The Odyssey comes to Child Okeford School on Saturday March 25 at 7.30pm. Call 01258 861612 for tickets.

It will then be at Buckland Newton Village Hall on Sunday March 26 at 7.30pm. Call 01300 345455 for tickets.
