DORCHESTER fire crews spent an evening doing a refresher course in the equipment used in crashes involving large vehicles.
The drill evening, included a refresher for fire crews on some of the equipment held at the enhanced rescue unit based at Dorchester Fire Station.
During the Monday night drill evening, the crews had presentations on the operation and maintenance of equipment including heavy duty cutters and spreaders, low pressure air bags and winch systems.
Crews also got demonstrations in medical and first aid equipment.
All the equipment used during the evening is typically used during crashes on Dorset’s roads involving large vehicles such as lorries or buses.
