A MAN who was injured in a crash near Dorchester in March has died in hospital, police have confimed.

Officers were called at around 11.35am on Tuesday, March 14 to reports of a two-vehicle collision on an unclassified road between the West Stafford bypass and Crossways.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "The collision involved a silver Nissan X-Trail, which was travelling west, and a white Iveco panel van travelling east.

"The driver of the Nissan, a 77-year-old man from the local area, suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital. He sadly died in hospital on Tuesday 9 May 2017.

"His front seat passenger, a 76-year-old woman also from the local area, sustained serious injuries was taken to Dorset County Hospital for treatment. She is recovering from her injuries.

"The van driver also suffered serious injuries and was taken to Dorset County Hospital. He is recovering from his injuries."
