Young actors are about to get stuck into a week-long workshop which will see them put on a production in one week.

Dorchester Youth Theatre's Combined Arts Week will take place from August 21 to 26 at the Thomas Hardye School Theatre in Dorchester.

The week of drama, dance and song will involve more than 40 young people, both on stage and behind the scenes.

This will be the 27th year of Combined Arts Week.

Many participants return every year, and then, and as they get older, often come back to help with the numerous behind the scenes tasks.

This is a production made in a week, starting on a Monday morning with no-one knowing the script or characters to putting on two full length performances on the Friday and Saturday.

There are no auditions, everyone can try something new. It's also about having fun, learning new skills and making friendships, which last well beyond the week itself.

Places are booking up fast, but there are still a few left. Participants need to be aged from 10 to 18 years and available for the whole week.
