DORSET’S touring arts charity, Artsreach, is uniting once more with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra to present two special ensemble concerts in rural venues this October.

With a range of music from across the ages, these chamber concerts will showcase outstanding professional performers in an intimate setting at West Knighton and Sydling St Nicholas.

Yvonne Gallimore, co-director of Artsreach said:

“It is absolutely brilliant to be able to work once more with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and our village promoters are very excited to be hosting them. The autumn season has been extremely well received so far, and we are grateful for the support of our sponsors Blanchards Bailey, and our funders, the Arts Council, County Council and District Councils, without whom it would be a challenge to provide such a huge programme of outstanding live events.’

On Saturday, October 21, the BSO Principal Winds travel to St Peter’s Church in West Knighton for A Wind Serenade.

Join with the principal wind players and horn from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra as they perform an exciting programme of the finest music composed for wind instruments. Pieces include Debussy's Syrinx, Danzi's Quintet in B Flat and Elgar's Chanson de Matin, plus works by Ibert, Poulnec and Hallam. His intimate concert offers the chase to hear wind quintet playing at its finest.

To book tickets, please call 07443 659912.

Next up on Friday, October 27, the BSO Resonate Strings musicians will perform a String Serenade at Sydling St Nicholas Village Hall.

. The Resonate Strings are gifted musicians, each of whom represents the five string sections of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. This engaging concert will reflect the wonderful diversity of the classical string repertoire, with music including Vivaldi’s ‘Winter’ from The Four Seasons, Handel’s ‘Arrival of the Queen of Sheba’ and Mancini’s ‘Moon River’.
