A RICH variety of wintery entertainment is on offer this month with Dorchester Arts.

The clocks have gone back and the season of hot chocolates, cosy blankets, knitwear and winter festivities is well and truly upon us.

Tonight, enjoy music and a singing workshop from across the globe with Northern Harmony. Magicians Morgan and West will amaze and astound us, and Dyad Productions will take us on a dark journey towards sensual and intellectual enlightenment in Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre. All this in the space of four consecutive nights!

The second week of November fills us with music as violinist Marieke Blankestijn and clarinetist Richard Hosford are joined by friends and colleagues from the Chamber Orchestra of Europe in a fundraising concert for Dorchester Arts on Wednesday November 8. On Sunday November 12 Goblin Theatre wow us with new music lovingly inspired by Prokofiev’s Peter and The Wolf. Intriguingly created live with a variety of instruments and objects, including real musical vegetables, the show will have children and adults of all ages jumping for joy.

Why not start your Christmas shopping in style on Sunday November 19 with Dorchester Art’s fundraising High End to High Street pre-loved clothing sale. Donations include everything from glittery high street items still with their labels on through to a glamorous donation from Paris.

Mike Denham continues his series of Speakeasy nights for 2017 where he will be joined on stage by renowned banjo player Tom ‘Spats’ Langham on Wednesday November 22. The rabble rousing Slightly Fat Features descend on us on Saturday November 25 with a show that is stuffed to the seams with astonishing physical skills, orchestrated mayhem and lots of laughs to suit all ages, shapes and sizes!

Following their visit to Dorchester last winter, Joglaresa return on Sunday 26 November with Belinda Sykes’ groundbreaking medieval music ensemble. This time, they will be exploring the roots of Iberian music.

Stand-up comedian, poet, improviser and TV stalwart Phill Jupitus brings November to a close with an evening of tales, laughs and diversions on Thursday November 30. Dorchester Arts have been able to make a few more tickets available, but it’s expected that they will sell out quickly, so get in touch to check availability.
