A POPULAR ale festival will be making a welcome return in 2018.
Dorchester Beerex will be returning for its 30th year to the Corn Exchange on Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3.

The Dorchester Beerex committee, made up of representatives of West Dorset Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and Dorchester Round Table, said this year marks a major milestone in the ever-popular charity festival, where from humble beginnings can now boast of funds raised for good local causes in excess of £150,000.

This year’s main benefactor will be the Dorchester Social Stroke Club which gives vital support in the Dorchester and surrounding area to stroke victims to help aid their recovery.

Palmers’ brewery of Bridport is proud to sponsor the event for the fourth consecutive year running.

Marketing director, Cleeves Palmer said: “Palmers Brewery is delighted to be the main sponsor of Dorchester Beerex again in 2018. It is a tremendous coming together of real ale enthusiasts and it is a great opportunity for them to try all the different ales that are on offer these days. My congratulations to the Beerex team on their thirtieth birthday, here is to the next 30 years.”

Lee Turner from Dorchester Round Table and the chairman of the 2018 Beerex committee said: “I’m honoured to be given the chance to chair the 30th years festival as it’s such a landmark in our history and worth celebrating. I expect to see lots of old festival regulars and hopefully meet many new customers.”

With a new bar lay out in the Corn Exchange and the use of the town hall upstairs even more seating areas over all four sessions will be generated, organisers are looking to maximise the drinking space for customers while still promoting more than 80 different real ales and ciders from all over the UK.

Tickets will be going on sale soon.
