Residents young and old busy preparing for December 25 are invited to take a moment to consider the true meaning of Christmas.

The United Church in Dorchester has organised an 'interactive experience' called Journey to the Stable which is ideal for adults and children alike.

The journey takes 20-30 minutes and there are seven 'stations' around the church focusing on a person or a part of the Christmas story with readings and reflections. At each stop there is a small activity or object for you to take away, so you leave with a bag of reflections and goodies.

Drop in this Saturday or Wednesday, December 6 from 11am-3pm to embark on the journey.

The church also invites people to take the 'Sheep Trail'.

A spokesman said: "Some of the sheep from Journey to the Stable have wandered off around town and are hiding in shops or shop windows. Collect a card from the United Church shop (mornings only) or the Tourist Information Centre with the names of the lost sheep and see if you can spot them. When you find one, the shop will put a sticker on your card. Bring back your completed card to Journey to The Stable and you will be given a book about the Nativity.

"Pick up a card and see if you can find them all."
