SEE how codebreakers helped Britain win the war in a fascinating illustrated talk.

One of the Second World War’s most fascinating stories will be heard at Dorchester Arts on Sunday January 21 at 2.30pm followed by an opportunity for questions, then a hands-on demonstration of one of the very few surviving Enigma machines.

This illustrated talk by Dr Mark Baldwin tells the fascinating story of the Allied Codebreakers and how they deciphered a vast number of German secret messages and used the intelligence gained to hasten Allied victory.

The show provides an entertaining and instructive account of the Enigma machine, the legendary codebreakers of Bletchley Park and the effects of their incredible work on the progress of the war.

Dr Mark Baldwin has made a detailed study of the Enigma machine, the code-breaking work at Bletchley Park, and U-boats and has built up a unique collection of slides which illustrate the main features of those important facts of the Second World War.
