Selfless residents of Weymouth and Portland were rewarded at a ceremony hosted by the borough's mayor on Wednesday.
June Blake, Susan Baillie, Alexander Anderson, Peter Barrow and Helen Lainsbury were all given Good Citizens awards at the ceremony hosted by the mayor of Weymouth and Portland, Cllr Kevin Brookes at the council offices in Weymouth.
The awardees were nominated for their selfless acts for the good of the community, including fundraising, acting as a carer for family members and voluntary work. All are residents of the borough of Weymouth & Portland.
"It was an honour to present this years Good Citizens Awards at a ceremony in the council offices on Wednesday 4th April," said Cllr Brookes. "This year's awards were presented for reasons varying from selfless volunteering with local groups to raising money for good causes.
"It was heartening to meet a very small section of the hundreds of volunteers who give up their time for little or no personal reward, only the satisfaction of doing their best and working hard for their local communities."
