Could you help prevent social isolation in older people?
Age UK Dorchester’s day centre, the Rowan Club, is looking for volunteers to help older people take part in activities, serve lunch and make clients feel welcome.
The Rowan Club runs from 9.30am to 3pm four days a week and aims to provide social contact for people,
reduce isolation and loneliness, maintain independence, provide a break for carers, offer activities which provide mental and physical stimulation and promote health and nutrition.
Typical activities include indoor bowling, art, quizzes, board games and reminiscence activities.
For more information on the role, what it involves and how to volunteer, contact Lisa Holmes by calling 01305 269444 or email lholmes@ageukdorchester.onmicrosoft.com
