Hi readers, so it’s December and, in our minds, the Christmas countdown is beginning.

But of course it began some time ago. As early as September we spotted mince pies and Christmas decorations in some supermarkets. I mean, we hadn’t even had Halloween or Bonfire Night!

We understand shops start so early because it helps those organised Christmas shoppers, (not us,) who don’t leave everything until the last minute (us).

So why do we leave it until the last minute? Well, life is busy and the thing is, there’s so much else going on between now and Christmas.

For example, it’s Christmas Cracker in Dorchester this Thursday night where the Christmas lights are turned on at St Peter’s Church. We are hoping to go and watch because we love seeing the community come together, and to see which celebrity it is!

Then there’s the ice skating rink in Brewery Square, and we are hoping to go. We are trying to find an instructor as we want to feel safe, as well as enjoy ourselves.

We are also looking forward to hearing all those Christmas songs, and of course the many great films on tv this time of year. For us, there is nothing better to get in the Christmas mood than a bit of Shakin' Stevens' ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ or Cliff Richard's ‘Mistletoe and Wine’.

What’s great is that we even get to start singing them tonight because it’s our Christmas Disco at the Junction in Dorchester, where we can sing and dance to our hearts content!

That’s it for now.

Tune in next week to hear about us being carol singers as we prepare for more singing, puppeteering and drama at our Christmas carol service.
